Within four days, 49 returnees from Syria arrive in Adygea and Kabardino-Balkaria

On June 18, a group of 10 returnees arrived from Syria in Adygea and Kabardino-Balkaria. In total, on June 15-18, 49 returnees came to the republics in three groups. On the coming days, other 42 persons are expected to come to Russia from Syria.

On June 18, at 4:30 p.m., the group of Syrian Circassians of 10 persons arrived at the airport of the city of Krasnodar. "Two went to Nalchik, and eight arrived in Adygea. A family of four was met in Adygea by their relatives. We will help to accommodate another family," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Askhad Guchetl, Executive Director of the Public Foundation for assistance to returnees in Adygea.

Earlier, on June 17, a group of 32 persons arrived from Syria at the capital of Kabardino-Balkaria.

"14 of them were accommodated at the sanatorium 'Elbrus'. Other returnees were accommodated by their relatives. In total, since the beginning of the armed conflict in Syria, about 200 returnees came to Kabardino-Balkaria," said Beslan Khagazhei, a member of the Board of the public organization to assist in repatriation of compatriots and accommodating on their ancestors' land "Peryt".

According to Beslan Khagazhei, 150 out of 200 returnees have been accommodated at the sanatoria "Elbrus" and "Druzhba" (Friendship). "Since the number of places at the sanatoria is limited, we will discuss the issue to rent apartments for returnees. Entrepreneurs will help to solve that problem. Businessmen also pay for returnees' accommodation and meals at the sanatoria," he has explained.

According Beslan Khagazhei, at present, only 5 immigrants, who came to Kabardino-Balkaria from Syria, obtained temporary residence permits. "It is planned that a group of Syrian Circassians will get such permits these June-July," he said.

On June 15, a group of 7 persons arrived at Maikop from Syria. This was reported by Fatima Paranuk, the head of relations with compatriots of the Committee of Adygea for National Affairs, Relations with Compatriots and Media.

According to her, at present, in total, more than 88 families from Syria reside in Adygea. "There are 177 persons, 134 of whom have moved here before the war. Since the beginning of the armed conflict in Syria, 13 families 43 persons arrived in Adygea (the number does not include 8 returnees, who arrived in Maikop on June 18, note of the "Caucasian Knot"). We pay for accommodation and rent apartments for 7 families," Fatima Paranuk has explained.

She has added that all returnees are rendered assistance in obtaining documents.

Fatima Paranuk has also reported that the Public Foundation for assistance to returnees of the Republic of Adygea began obtaining funds for assistance to returnees.

"Staff members of the Committee of the Republic of Adygea for National Affairs, Relations with Compatriots and Media were the first, who transferred funds. Besides, Asker Shkhalakhov, the head of the Committee, mobilized his family members to transfer funds for rendering assistance. He has raised tens of thousands of roubles. 20,000 roubles were transferred by Raziet Natkho, the State Duma Deputy. The Adyg regional public organization for revival of national traditions of Adyg (Circassian) nation 'Adyge Khase' transferred more than 40,000 roubles," Fatima Paranuk stated.

Besides, according to her, the letters, signed by Asker Shkhalakhov, the head of the Committee of the Republic of Adygea for National Affairs, Relations with Compatriots and Media, asking to render assistance to returnees, were sent to leaders of various enterprises and public organizations. "We receive responses to our letters. I believe that organizations will also render financial aid," Fatima Paranuk has concluded.
