Dagestani resident sentenced to life imprisonment for murdering his relatives

The Supreme Court of Dagestan pronounced a verdict of guilty against Ibragimsultan Magomedov, a resident of the republic, accused of killing his sister and her two children. Ibragimsultan Magomedov was sentenced to life imprisonment in a high security penal colony.

The trial took place on June 21. "The Court found Ibragimsultan Magomedov guilty of committing the crime under Article 105 (murder) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation and sentenced him to life imprisonment in a high security penal colony," the "Caucasian Knot" was told by officials from the Supreme Court of Dagestan.

According to the Republic's Prosecutor's Office, the reason for killing the woman and her 3- and 7-year-old two sons was the fact that Ibragimsultan Magomedov did not like, how and with whom his sister was trying to arrange her personal life.

Ibragimsultan Magomedov said that he had killed his sister, since she "led the wrong way of life." Confession was recorded by operational video, published on the website of the RIA "Dagestan".

"The Court has sentenced the criminal to the maximum penalty for the crime of such type," the correspondent was clarified by officials from the Supreme Court of Dagestan.
