In Abkhazia, resident of Gali District, kidnapped for ransom, released

In Abkhazia, a 35-year-old Lasha Belkaniya, who was kidnapped by unidentified persons for ransom, returned home alone. This was told to journalists by officers from the Gali ROVD (District Interior Division). His health state is satisfactory; however, his family members refuse to disclose the details of his return.

The power agencies of the Gali District continue to carry out operational activities to find kidnappers.

According to unconfirmed information, the relatives of the kidnapped man have paid some portion of the amount, which the criminals demanded for the release of Lasha Belkaniya.
