Adygs from Turkey, who visited their historical homeland, plan to come there to study

Young representatives of the ethnic Diaspora in Turkey, who visited Adygea starting from July 30, intend to return to the republic and to enter the institutions of higher education. Such trips are important, since they acquaint young people with the opportunities, offered by the state, including opportunities for education. This was stated by Eyup Paloglo, a person, accompanying the group.

On July 30, the delegation of young representatives of the Diaspora in Turkey arrived in Adygea. The delegation included 21 teenagers of 12-17 years old and two adult accompanying persons; all of them came to Adygea for the first time.

"I like Adygea very much, and I do not want to leave it. I plan to finish school in three years and come here to study. I made such a decision during the trip, when we visited the universities of the republic. I want to enter the medical department," said a 15-year-old Gupsa Kobleva from the city of Kayseri.

"In their time, my grandfathers could not come to Adygea, and I managed to do that at my age, and I am very proud and happy. I believe, firstly, I will come to study at the University of Adygea, and then, I will move to live here," said a 12-year-old Merich Kaia from the city of Corum.

According Eyup Paloglo, the person, accompanying the group, in recent years, he twice accompanied delegations of children from Turkey to Karachay-Cherkessia. At present, five of them study in Nalchik, and two in Maikop.

"I am sure that the teenagers from this group will also succeed, and they will study at homeland of their ancestors," Eyup Paloglo said.

At night of August 12-13, a plane with the delegation of young people from ethnic Diaspora in Turkey took off from the Krasnodar Airport to Istanbul.

Within the programme of the delegation's visit to Adygea, the participants of the delegation had opportunities not only to see the sights, culture and traditions of the republic, but also to attend training on the basics of craft business, riding, and the Adyg language. The teenagers got acquainted with the Cyrillic alphabet, numeric characters and ways of forming words in the form of games and competitions.

"My grandmothers in Turkey speak Adyg language; however, they do not read and write it, and, so, they cannot teach me it," Merich Kaia has noted. He continued: "The things that I learned in Adygea became a good start for me. I want to continue to learn my native language."

"And I know the Adyg language, since I learned it in Turkey," said Gupsa Kobleva. The girl continued: "It was easy for me to understand local residents."
