Ukraine extradites man, suspected of planning assassination of Vladimir Putin, to Russia

Today, the Court of Appeal of the Odessa Region dismissed the complaint, filed by the defence of Adam Osmaev, suspected of planning the assassination of Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation, and upheld the decision of the General Prosecutor's Office of Ukraine to extradite the native of Grozny to Russia.

On August 3, the Malinovsky District Court of Odessa upheld the decision the General Prosecutor's Office of Ukraine to extradite the native of Chechnya. The decision of the General Prosecutor's Office of Ukraine became a response to the request from the Russian counterparts of the supervisory authority. The lawyers of Adam Osmaev filed a complaint to the Court of Appeal of the Odessa Region.

At today's session, the Court of Appeal of the Odessa Region recognized arguments of the lawyers as insufficient and agreed with the decision of the General Prosecutor's Office of Ukraine to extradite Adam Osmaev, the "Interfax" reports.

In accordance with the Ukrainian laws, the lawyers cannot challenge the decision on extradition by appeal, and it came into force.

"A decision on 'the Osmaev's murder' was made," the journalists were told after the court session by lawyer Valery Kochetov, President of the Odessa Human Rights Academy. He represents in the court the interests of the spouse of Adam Osmaev, RIA "Novosti" reports.
