Kabardino-Balkaria: 350 persons submit applications for Hajj

In Kabardino-Balkaria, preparation of Muslims to pilgrimage to holy places has started. This was reported by Murat Sibekov, a representative of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the republic. According to him, 350 persons have already submitted applications to perform the pilgrimage.

The Hajj is to be performed at least once in a life by every Muslim, who has attained the age of majority and whose health state allows the pilgrimage.

In 2012, the planned quota for pilgrims from Russia to the Hajj is 20,500 persons. This year, for Kabardino-Balkaria, the quota is 500 persons.

According to Amerbi Gegraev, the leader of one of the groups, the peculiarity of this year pilgrimage is in the fact that the number of pilgrims from Kabardino-Balkaria will include many persons, who are performing the Hajj for the first time.

This year, the cost of the Hajj will be fully paid by the pilgrims. The government of Kabardino-Balkaria established an organizing committee to assist residents of the republic, who wish to perform the Hajj.
