Oleg Prudnikov, organizer of action in support of "Pussy Riot", detained in Novocherkassk

Today, in Novocherkassk, Oleg Prudnikov, the organizer of the rally in support of the punk band "Pussy Riot" was detained. According to Vladislav Ryazantsev, the coordinator of the "Left-Wing Front" in the Rostov Region, the detention is an attempt to disrupt the rally.

"Today, in Novocherkassk, Oleg Prudnikov, who just walked through the city, was detained. Staff members of the Centre to Combat Extremism stopped him for checking on the criminal case and brought him to the police station No. 2 of Novocherkassk to clarify the circumstances. At present, they try to seize his mobile phone. He may be arrested again," Vladislav Ryazantsev said.

He believes that after the detention, the action can be disrupted. "The administration's answer on sanctioning the venue and time of the rally in support of the 'Pussy Riot' was obtained in the name of Oleg Prudnikov. I think it would be the reason for that we would not be allowed to hold the rally," Vladislav Ryazantsev said.

Officials from the unit on duty of the police station No. 2 of Novocherkassk told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that Oleg Prudnikov was not brought to the police station.
