Six persons wounded in attack on mosque in Khasavyurt

Today in Khasavyurt, unidentified persons have committed an armed attack on a Shiite mosque community, resulting in six people injured, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of the Republic of Dagestan reports.

As reported by the service, about 8:55 p.m. Moscow time, two unidentified masked men broke into the mosque, located in Magidov Street in Khasavyurt, and opened fire from firearms.

"According to preliminary data, after the attack six persons were taken to the central hospital of Khasavyurt; two of them are in serious condition, while the rest have injured limbs," said the MIA.

An operative- investigatory team is now studying the venue. The issue of criminal investigation is being addressed, the RIA "Novosti" reports.

The Investigatory Department for Dagestan of the ICRF has confirmed the information, the "Interfax" writes.
