Azerbaijan and Armenia accuse each other of breaking ceasefire

At night on August 18, the Armenian armed forces shelled the positions of the Azerbaijani army, said the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of Azerbaijan. The Armenian party rejects the accusations and reports numerous attacks undertaken by Azerbaijanis.

According to the MoD of Azerbaijan, the fire was coming from six directions, the "1news.az" reports with reference to a source from the MoD.

The shelling was suppressed by response fire, the "aze.az" quotes the press service of the MoD of Azerbaijan.

In their turn, the Armenian party reports numerous violations of ceasefire, which, according to the Armenian party, were committed by Azerbaijanis.

According to the operative data of the Defence Army of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR), on August 12-18, the Azerbaijani party for 300 times broke the ceasefire on the contact line. The Azerbaijani party made about 1200 shots in the direction of the Armenian positions of firearms of different calibres, the "Panarmenian" reports.

The forward units of the Defence Army remained committed to the ceasefire regime, the "Armtoday" writes with reference to the press service of the Defence Army of the NKR.
