Local resident Sheikhmagomed Magomedkerimov disappears in Dagestan, his father reports

Sheikhmagomed Magomedkerimov, 21, a resident of Derbent, was detained by policemen of the GOVD (City Interior Division); his whereabouts is still unknown, said his father Zainudin Magomedkerimov.

"Today, my elder son Khalik was taken to a city hospital after an explosion happened in his apartment; he is now in a critical condition in the intensive care unit. My younger son went to visit him; our relatives then told me that at about 3 p.m. Sheikhmagomed was approached by two unidentified persons in civilian clothes. They introduced themselves as local policemen, showed their IDs and asked my younger son to follow them. Sheikhmagomed obeyed, but when his friends went to the GOVD, they were told that they had no idea where Sheikhmagomed was. The friends visited all the respective instances and addressed their bosses; however, the whereabouts of my younger son is still unknown," Zainudin Magomedkerimov told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

The father also said that his son Sheikhmagomed is a strictly practicing Muslim; and he was not registered by the police.

The on duty unit of the Derbent OVD (Interior Division) stated that Sheikhmagomed Magomedkerimov was not among those brought to the division.
