Sergey Semushin: pasting leaflets with recruits' personal data in Volgograd was violation of the law

According to Sergey Semushin, the lawyer of the Volgograd regional public organization "Mothers' Law", in Volgograd, leaflets entitled "Wanted", pasted on poles, with details of the recruits and their parents violate the Federal Law "On Personal Data". The Volgograd police refute any involvement in the appearance of those announcements.

"Leaflets with the names of recruits, indicating their names and personal data, workplaces and work positions of their parents were posted everywhere," the "Caucasian Knot" was told by Nina Ponomaryova, Chair of the regional human rights organization "Mothers' Law". She continued: "We were contacted by parents of two recruits; however, I think the number of those guys was higher."

According to the public organization "Mothers' Law", the leaflets entitled "Wanted" appeared in late May. However, only at present, the story got public response.

Sergey Semushin, the lawyer of the organization "Mothers' Law", believes that the leaflets have violated the Federal Law "On Personal Data". "Most likely, we will file a complaint to the Regional Prosecutor's Office to assess the acts of police officers and staff members of the recruitment military office at present, the issue is at the stage of development," he has emphasized.

"The police are not involved in those announcements," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Svetlana Smolyaninova, Chief of the press service of the Chief Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) in the Volgograd Region. She has continued: "No one filed to the GUVD (Chief Interior Department) a complaint, requesting to find the persons, indicated in it."
