Violations found in distribution of housing in South-Ossetian capital

In Tskhinvali, the commission on legality and legitimacy of distribution of housing in the micro-district "Moskovsky" has prepared a package of documents on violations in the procedure of distribution and access to housing, and it intends to bring them to the prosecutor's office in the near future.

On August 22, the meeting of the Republic's Government stated that the work of revealing violations in distribution of housing is not completed. A subsidiary subgroup has been established at the commission with the function of control of apartments and houses that are already distributed, but not yet inhabited.

According to Sergey Bitiev, First Deputy General Prosecutor, in total, 40 percent of the distributed housing has been inhabited. The other apartments are vacant.

"Some cottages are inhabited by people, and the housing has been distributed to completely other people. There are situations, where housing has been given to owner in accordance with the list and is empty. In most cases, there are also violations in the documentation. There are cases when the documents show two owners of the same housing, that is, the housing has been given to one owner in accordance with the list, and another family already lives there. All that facts are to be considered," Sergey Bitiev said.
