Boy of 11 attacked by dogs in Adygea

Near the village of Prirechny, Maikop District of Adygea, two big Rottweiler dogs attacked an 11-year-old child and heavily bit him. The boy was hospitalized in grave condition with multiple bites and lacerations. Now his life is out of danger, said a doctor from the Republic's Children Hospital.

"In the evening on August 23, kids came up to us and said that four of them were playing and then attacked by the dogs. Three of them managed to escape and called an adult for help, who called the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) and doctors," Roman Yunda, an inspector of Company No. 1 of the separate battalion of the GIBDD (traffic police) of the MIA of Adygea, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. "The body of the boy, which was dragged like a rag by two powerful dogs, was in a deep ravine; doctors stood aside; but they could not help the child – the dog didn't allow them to approach."

Policemen opened fire and killed one of the dogs; then, doctors could take the injured boy in critical condition with multiple bites and lacerations to the Republic's Children Hospital. He underwent surgery. Now, according to doctors, the child's life is out of danger.

The owner of the dogs was found and brought to administrative responsibility.

"We are not able to receive all such patients; there are plenty of complaints against stray dogs," said a source from the Maikop traumatology centre. "They bite even our doctors; we can't even get out to the street, as homeless dogs are all the time around our centre."
