Shamil Abdurashidov kidnapped in Dagestan, said his brother

In Makhachkala, unidentified armed men in camouflage and masks have beaten and kidnapped Shamil Abdurashidov, 33, the director of the subsidiary enterprise "Dagselkhozkhimiya", his brother Khizri Abdurashidov told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

"The kidnapping took place in the evening on August 23. I live, along with my parents, at No. 110 Chernyshevskogo Street in Makhachkala. In the evening Shamil came to visit us. He talked to our parents, said goodbye to us, and went home in his car. It so happened that I also had to go to town. For some time I followed my brother's car, but then suddenly his car was blocked by a Priora with tinted windows and number plate EU 428, Region 26 (Stavropol). Six armed men in camouflage and masks jumped out of the Priora car; they pulled Shamil out of his car by punching him and beating with submachine gun butts, and pushed him into the Priora. One of the kidnappers got into my brother's car; then the two cars drove at high speed down Agasiev Street," said Khizri Abdurashidov.

According to his story, he tried to follow the kidnappers, but they understood that he was shadowing them. "They turned around and made a race for my car. I barely managed to break away from them," said Khizri Abdurashidov.

In his opinion, power agents could be involved in kidnapping his brother. He also said that he had already asked for help from human rights organizations of Dagestan, the Ombudsperson under the President of Dagestan, the local Minister of Internal Affairs and the Public Prosecutor.

In his turn, the on duty officer at the Sovietsky ROVD (District Interior Division) of Makhachkala told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that Shamil Abdurashidov was not brought there on August 23.
