In Grozny, women's group wins Russian Championship in parachuting

In Chechnya, All-Russian competitions in parachuting for the Akhmat Kadyrov Cup have been completed. The competitions were attended by athletes from various regions of Russia and paratroopers from Ukraine, Serbia, and Montenegro. In the team competitions, the best results were achieved by the women's group "Caucasus".

On August 23, the Russian Championship in parachuting was held at the "Katayama" airfield in the Staropromyslovsky District of Grozny.

"The women's group 'Caucasus' won the team competitions. The best results were achieved by Olga Lepezina, Honoured Master of Sports and World Champion in parachute decathlon, who had 17,000 jumps on her account," a representative of the jury has stated.

Apart from the Russian athletes, parachutists from Ukraine, Serbia, and Montenegro took part in the Championship. The winners of the competitions were awarded with cups, medals and certificates from the organizers.

"I was surprised that among the paratroopers there were so many young people and even teenagers. There was even a 13-year-old girl, who has already committed one hundred or even more jumps," Khalid M., a resident of Grozny, said.
