In Novomikhailovsky, five persons detained for looting

Last night, in the Tuapse District of the Krasnodar Territory, where people eliminate the aftermath of severe flooding, police officers detained five looters. This was reported by the press service of the Chief Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) in the Krasnodar Territory.

"A local resident, who stole food products from victims of flooding, was the first detainee," the press service stated. The man was carrying food products in a wheelbarrow and failed to explain to the police, where he bought them.

After that, according to the MIA, while patrolling the streets, police officers detained a group of citizens of Uzbekistan with two stolen vacuum cleaners, electrical heater and other household appliances. "One more female citizen of Uzbekistan was carrying a carpet covered with mud, and she failed to explain anything to the police officers," the source emphasizes.

All five persons, detained on suspicion of theft from flooded houses and shops, were brought to the police unit on duty of the village of Novomikhailovsky. At present, the investigation is underway, the "ITAR-TASS Kuban" reports.

According to the MIA's Department in the Krasnodar Territory, at present, more than 300 police officers watch the public order in the village, the "Radio Liberty" reports.
