Rustam Evloev arrested for two months in Ingushetia

Today, the court has ruled to arrest Rustam Evloev, an inspector of the road-and-post-service (known as DPS) for the Nazran District of Ingushetia, who had been kidnapped, according to his relatives, by unidentified armed people in Chechnya, for two months.

The disappearance of Rustam Evloev was reported by Tamara Gorbakova, his wife and a resident of Malgobek. Evloev was in the village of Dolinskoye of Chechnya, where on August 17 armed men in civilian clothes detained him and put into a Priora car with tinted windows, says Ms Gorbakova's statement.

Gorbakova said that in Ingushetia a criminal case was opened against her husband; and he was put on the search list. According to her story, on August 25 she could see her husband; he looked exhausted and behaved "not quite adequately."

According to Nelly Khasanova, the detainee's advocate, only on August 26 she managed to meet her client.

"Based on the fact that Rustam Evloev is suspected of committing crimes, investigators petitioned to the court on restricting his freedom," said Nelly Khasanova. "The judge has ruled to arrest him for two months."

According to Khasanova, now Evloev is being treated at the Republic's Clinical Hospital.
