In Dagestan, auto dealers prepare protest actions

The traders of the automobile marketplace located on the highway Makhachkala-Kaspiysk, are getting ready to hold protest actions against the decision of the Makhachkala Mayoralty to close the marketplace, one of the traders Magomedrasul Aliev told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

"Today, employees of the Lenin District of Makhachkala have stuck notifications-prescriptions to all the container with goods dated August 28 and stating that tomorrow the marketplace will be closed; therefore we should completely remove – at our own expense – all the goods out of the containers for subsequent removal of the latter," said Aliev and added that the demand was impracticable, and it forced them to prepare their protests.

According to Magomedrasul Aliev, more than 300 people work at the marketplace; they have already paid all the due taxes, rental and other fees. "Each of us has a family; I have four dependents; nobody of them has a job; what should I do tomorrow?" he asked.

Murad Akhmedov, another trader, also said in his comment on the demand to abandon the marketplace that "hundreds of families will remain out of work and means of subsistence." "Dagestan has a complicated situation without it," he said.

An entrepreneur Pakhrudin Azizov said that the officials offered the traders to move to a new location. "Ten years ago, at the entrance to the village of Novy Khushet they opened a new marketplace; and it is still empty, because the location is inconvenient," he said.

So far, the "Caucasian Knot" has no comments of the Makhachkala administration on the information about the intention to close the marketplace.
