Khamzat Aldiev's mother denies his involvement in terror act in Malgobek District of Ingushetia

Khamzat Aldiev had nothing to do with the terror act committed in the Malgobek District, said his mother Lyuba Aldieva after identification of the suicide bomber at the Nazran morgue, where she had been invited, along with her elder son Tamerlan on the following day after the explosion in Sagopshi.

"At the door of the morgue I felt bad; and Tamerlan went alone to identify the body," Lyuba Aldieva, a resident of the village of Arshty, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. "When the son came out, he said that it was not Khamzat – it was a completely different person." Tamerlan told his mother that he was asked to carefully examine the bomber's head and feet remains; however, and at first glance it was obvious that it was not his brother. "Khamzat is 25 years old, while the suicide bomber, according to Tamerlan, was 35 or even older. My son has dark hair, while the bomber was blonde. Judging by the feet, while Khamzat's size was 44-45, while the bomber was size 40-41," said the woman.

FSB agents took away Khamzat's photos and a DNA assay for analysis from his mother. "I don't know why on the day, when the terror act was committed, it was announced, without any examination, it was announced that it was committed by my son," said Aldieva. "Then, everyone began writing, without even making a call to our district policeman or the head of administration, that we left the village. My elder son took me to his house because of my poor health condition; but the house in the village is still inhabited by another son, a daughter, two daughters in law and six grandchildren. Why should we leave, if we are not guilty?" asked the woman.

According to Ms Aldieva, today is exactly one year after her youngest son Khamzat left for the forest; and she has never seen him and received no news from him since.

The fact that Khamzat Aldiev has never come home during this year was confirmed by Bayali Akiev, the head of the village administration of Arshty. "We are a small village, and we live in each other's eyes. If he came home, I am sure to know about it," he said.

Khamzat Aldiev is on the federal wanted list as a member of illegal armed formations (IAFs), said the district policemen of the village of Arshty Ibragim Dzeitov. He added that he has no data about any crime committed by Khamzat.

The suicide bomber, who committed the terror act in the village of Sagopshi, adopted the Islam and took the name of Khamzat Eldiev, said a law enforcer, who preferred to remain anonymous. "Apparently, the similarity of the two surnames and Aldiev's departure to the forest a year ago were the reasons why somebody hurried to identify the suicide bomber as a wrong person," he said.

The announcement at the highest level of the name of a suspected terrorist long before the results of examination is inadmissible, said Magomed Mutsolgov, the head of the NGO named "MASHR". "The family is in grief without it – the son went into the forest; and here – he is publicly announced as a suicide bomber. If you made a mistake, then, have courage to apologize to the mother, who has finally lost her health in the last few days," said the human rights activist.
