In Ingushetia, doctors insist on hospitalization of Ali Khazbiev

Doctors of the ambulance, called again to the GOVD (City Interior Division) of Nazran, insists hospitalization of Ali Khazbiev, brother of Magomed Khazbiev, an Ingush oppositionist and activist of the party "Parnas", who was arrested on suspicion of disorderly conduct. Doctors fear for his health.

Photo borrowed from the independent website ingushetiyaru.orgThe "Caucasian Knot" correspondent has learnt from the lawyer Madina Dakhkilgova that an ambulance was repeatedly called to Ali Khazbiev. "The arriving crew from the Republic's Clinical Hospital examined Ali and concluded that the detainee has a broken nose and ribs, brain concussion, and beaten off kidneys. To confirm the diagnosis, according to the doctors, the patent should be immediately hospitalized and exposed to x-rays," said the lawyer.

According to her story, now the investigatory division of Nazran GOVD decides "whether or not to allow hospitalization." "Both doctors and the detainee are waiting for the decision," Madina Dakhkilgova has explained.

Earlier, Magomed Khazbiev told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that around midnight on September 2 masked men beat up his three brothers in the yard of the Republic's Hospital and then took them away to the Nazran GOVD. According to Khazbiev, 15 other people were also detained. On September 2, Khazbiev learned that 13 people were released from the GOVD without presenting any charges, while the others remain in custody. Officials of the Security Council and Ingush MIA announced that on September 1 five persons were detained.

Meanwhile, according to the lawyer, the magistrate court of precinct No. 7 of Ingushetia continues considering an administrative case, where five local residents detained on September 1 in the hospital yard, are accused.

"According to the latest data, the ruling was passed against three men: Ali Khazbiev was given 5 days of arrest, and Sultygov brothers - 24 hours of custody each," explained the lawyer.

According to her story, no decision was made so far in respect of the remaining detainees; most likely, it "will be announced closer to the morning on September 3."

"I don't understand the haste with passing decisions by the judge - I've never seen an on duty judge hearing at night the case, which may be considered during the working hours," Madina Dakhkilgova has added.

No official comments about the developments have arrived so far.
