Journalist of "Esquire" questioned by FSB about her article about kidnappings in Chechnya
Svetlana Reiter, a correspondent for the "Esquire" magazine, claims that she was summoned for questioning to the FSB (Federal Security Bureau of Russia) in the context of her article concerning disappearances in Chechnya and the inaction of the authorities, where the statement of Igor Kalyapin, Chairman of the Committee Against Torture, was mentioned.
Svetlana asserts that investigators were interested in her relations with Kalyapin, whether he had given her any secret documents and whether she had access to his mailbox.
Besides, according to her story, she was asked about the location of the computers, which she uses in her work, the "Interfax" reports.
The article entitled "Caucasian Greyhounds" appeared in the above magazine over a year ago and was in fact a monologue of the human rights activist Igor Kalyapin, who told, in particular, that in recent years people were kidnapped in Chechnya by Kadyrov's people, the "Echo Moskvy" radio reports.
Svetlana Reiter fears that security agents can confiscate her computer and summon her colleagues for questioning.
So far, FSB officials have not commented on the statement of the journalist of the "Esquire" in the context of her interrogation.
