Stavropol: hospital, where teenager got fatal burns, to be fined by up to 150,000 roubles

The Children's Hospital of the Stavropol Territory, where a teenager perished as a result of inflammation of the hyperbaric chamber, faces a fine of 100,000-150,000 roubles for the violations revealed. This was reported by the "Roszdravnadzor" (Russian Federal Service on Surveillance in Health Care).

Let us remind you that on August 30, in the intensive care ward of the Stavropol Regional Children's Hospital, the hyperbaric chamber got inflamed, a teenager in it suffered burns, and he was brought to the resuscitation was in critical condition. Besides, a doctor, who pulled the patient out of the hyperbaric chamber, got burns of his face and hands. In a day, the 17-year-old Alexander Dyadchenko died.

The inspection revealed at the hospital numerous violations of the legislation, related to the training of specialists, operation of medical equipment and safety measures in procedures. This was reported by the website of the "Roszdravnadzor".

Thus, according to the agency, the teenager was not redressed in cotton wet clothes prior to the procedure, and the head of the department, who conducted the method of oxygen therapy in the hyperbaric chamber, had no training in paediatrics or therapy.

It was also revealed that the resource of the very hyperbaric chamber expired at least six years ago.

The "Roszdravnadzor" reports that at present, the activity of the chamber is terminated. The protocol of administrative violation, providing for a fine of 100,000-150,000 roubles, was completed against the health care institution.
