Anatoly Makhnovskiy, a protester against construction of TPP in Sochi and Chairman of TPSG "Kudepsta", has died
Today, at about 1 p.m., Anatoly Makhnovskiy, Chairman of the Territorial Public Self-Government (TPSG) "Kudepsta", who opposed the construction of a large thermal-and-power plant (TPP) in the Khosta District of Sochi, has deceased. This was announced by Igor Vasiliev, an assistant of Sergey Obukhov, a Russian State Duma Deputy from the faction of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF).
"Makhnovskiy was on his way to the city administration with documents about a protest against construction of the TPP. We directly attribute his death to the actions of the authorities and the police against residents of Kudepsta and personally against Anatoly Makhnovskiy," said Mr Vasiliev.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), the death of Anatoly Makhnovskiy was caused by a heart attack.
