Vladimir Putin's visit to Krasnodar paralyzes traffic in city centre

On September 12, in Krasnodar, the arrival of Russian President Vladimir Putin caused traffic jams of many kilometres. Vladimir Putin visited the Krasnodar Presidential Cadet Academy, which was opened on September 1, and then in the administration of the Krasnodar Territory he conducted a meeting on the patriotic and moral education of young people.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 1, in Krasnodar, the Krasnodar Presidential Cadet Academy (KPCA) was opened. In total, 400 boys are studying there. According to the KPCA's information, most of the cadets are children of military officers, who serve or served in Russia, and the rest cadets are orphans. The KPCA was opened in the territory of the former Krasnodar Military Command and Engineering Academy of Missile Forces.

In anticipation of the visit of the Russian President, the police have blocked pedestrian traffic in two quarters in Severnaya Street in Krasnodar, where the Presidential Cadet Academy is located.

The police have cordoned off the street, in which the Presidential Cadet Academy is located, at least five hours prior to the visit of the leader of the state. Officials of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) asked citizens to leave the right side of the street even several quarters from the KPCA and asked them to go to the opposite side of the street.

According to residents of Krasnodar, cordoning off the streets in the city centre in anticipation of official cars with flashing lights paralyzed the traffic.

"Krasnodar looks like a Potemkin village, the emperor has come to the city, and there are no traffic jams along his route, the asphalt has been cleaned, and even facades of houses have been washed," the user @vanyakadet writes in the "Twitter".

"The way we educate young people contributes to the fact whether Russia will be able to preserve and enhance itself and whether it will be able to be modern, forward-looking, to develop effectively, not to lose itself as a nation, and not to lose its identity in a very modern difficult situation," Vladimir Putin said, when opening the meeting.

Meanwhile, Vladimir Putin has warned against "official patriotism and self-isolation", which, according to him, bring exactly the opposite effect, and he has also emphasized that "the very history of the Russian multinational statehood indicates that the original patriotism has nothing in common with the ideas of racial, ethnic, and religious discrimination."

Among the directions of work, which will help develop a sense of patriotism among the younger generation, the President mentioned the development of the network of the cadet and Suvorov Academies, the state support for the relevant works of art and, above all, the cinema, and the promotion of healthy lifestyles.
