In Dagestan, local resident claims disappearance of her husband

Today, Aishat Alieva, a resident of Makhachkala, claimed that she could not find out the whereabouts of her husband Uzair Aliev, who was detained by staff members of the Kizlyar OVD (Interior Division) on September 16.

"On that day, early in the morning, my husband with his friends Ali Murtazaliev and Deniz Khisamov left for Moscow by car to visit Deniz. At about 10:00 a.m., Uzair called me and said that they were detained at a police post at the entrance to Kizlyar. My husband also said that he was told by policemen that he was registered by the police; however, he did not specify what kind of registration it was," the woman told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

According to her, the policemen completed an unlawful protocol that her husband with his friends behaved like hooligans and, therefore, they were detained.

"Then, my husband and I lost connection. At night, an unidentified person called me, and he said that he was calling at the request of my husband and that he was all right, and he and his friends would be released on September 17. In the morning, it became known that to a magistrate came, who pronounced the decision to arrest all of them for two days," Aishat Alieva notes.

The woman has also said that in the morning, she managed to call and talk to her husband. "He said that the attitude of the policemen towards them changed dramatically and that they kept questioning Deniz only. Then, the connection was completely broken, and at present, I do not know where my husband is and what happens to him," the woman says.

She also said that in spring, they were visited by a district police inspector, who was interested in their data. Aishat Alieva believes that the attention can be explained by the facts that she wears a hijab and that their family members themselves strictly practice Islam.

Uzair Aliev is 22 years old, and he is unemployed.

Officials from the Kizlyar OVD told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that Uzair Aliev, Ali Murtazaliev and Deniz Khisamov were detained for disorderly conduct, and starting from today, they were transferred to the OVD of the Kizlyar District.

However, policemen from the unit on duty of the OVD of the Kizlyar District stated that no one had been brought to them.
