Sergey Tsapok cuts his hands at trial on case of massacre in Kuschevskaya

Sergey Tsapok, the defendants in the case of murder of 12 persons in the village of Kuschevskaya, cut his hands at trial during jury selection. The court session was rescheduled for October 8. This was reported by a representative of the Krasnodar Regional Court.

The "Caucasian Knot" reported that on August 20, the Court granted defendants' motion to consider their case with participation of jury panel. Today, the Krasnodar Regional Court was to start forming a jury panel.

"Sergey Tsapok inflicted several blows to his hand with an object that looked like a screw. The injuries were not serious. However, an ambulance was called, and Sergey Tsapok was rendered medical assistance," the "Zhivaya Kuban" (Live Kuban) quotes the representative of the Krasnodar Regional Court.

According to the representative of the Court, the incident occurred during the questioning of potential members of the jury panel.

"My client struck his hand and inflicted an injury with blood," said Igor Skripka, the defendant's lawyer. He has added that after the incident, his main goal will be to seek for holding the new psychological and psychiatric examination with regard to Sergey Tsapok.

Earlier, experts have recognized Sergey Tsapok to be sane, the RIA "Novosti" reports.

"We will found out whether it was his personal indignation or it was his psychological condition," Igor Skripka said.

According to him, Sergey Tsapok was indignant at the fact that the Court prohibited his lawyers to ask a series of questions to the jury.

The court session was rescheduled for October 8.
