Only 16 out of 88 families residing in the territory of "Promzhilbaza", Karabulak, have a right to live there, the authorities of Ingushetia state

11 families of refugees from Chechnya are on a hunger strike in the territory of "Promzhilbaza",the town of Karabulak, Ingushetia. 88 families reside there but only 16 out of them are displaced persons from Chechen Republic and have a right to live there. This was declared by a representative of the Ministry of external relations, national policy, press and information of Ingushetia. Besides, not all the tenants of "Promzhilbaza" support the participants of the action of protest.

16 refugee families from Chechnya and 9 from North Ossetia live in the territory of "Promzhilbaza"

"88 families live in the territory of "Promzhilbaza",the town of Karabulak, at the moment and only 16 of them have a legal right to call themselves displaced persons from Chechen Republic and live in the ACS (areas of compact settlement - note by the "Caucasian Knot"). 9 families are displaced persons from Prigorodny district of RNO-Alania", the representative of the Ministry of external relations, national policy, press and information of Ingushetia said to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

Representatives of the Ministry and all those present in the territory of "Promzhilbaza" on September, 20, state that no violence or manhandling against human rights activist and editor of the newspaper "Peace to the Caucasus" Anatoly Sidakov reported by a refugee woman took place during the action of protest.

"In the present situation round "Promzhilbaza" in Karabulak one can arrive at a conclusion that certain destructive forces out of selfish motives or political motivations are trying to destabilize social and political situation in the region. It is just this that drives them to the wrong path of provocations", a representative of the Ministry declared.

Anatoly Sidakov himself also denies the information of beating.

"I was present in the refugees' camp in Karabulak but nobody beat me, this is untrue. I gave no comments to anyone because I do not know why they thought I was allegedly beaten up", Sidakov said to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

Not all the tenants of ACS "Promzhilbaza" support the hunger strike, people say that they have no complaints of the authorities of Ingushetia

A woman refugee from Chechnya who preferred to remain anonymous says that her family has been living in Ingushetia for 12 years.

"But today we are alive thanks to Ingush authorities who not only do not drive us away but even render some aid, therefore we lay claims on the authorities of Chechnya. We do not want outsiders to interfere with our affairs. The human rights activist from North Ossetia whose mission is to observe human rights should protect the rights of his fellow citizens, displaced persons from Prigorodny district and help them return to the land of their former residence", the woman said to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

Another tenant of "Promzhilbaza" agrees with her.

"All these years we have been living in Ingushetia and are naturally grateful to the authorities and the people of Ingushetia. But we cannot live this way any longer, that is why we appeal to Head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov who is responsible for us because we are citizens of Chechen Republic and had dwellings there", the woman says.
