Eight persons killed in two-day special operation in Chechnya

Four policemen were lost and 11 more wounded in the special operation conducted on September 20-21 in the Vedeno District of Chechnya. Also four militants were killed, according to a source from the police.

As reported by law enforcement bodies, during the two days in the operation held in a hardly accessible area of the forested mountainous terrain four police officers were lost. Another 11 policemen received wounds of varying gravity.

According to a source from the police, four militants were killed, which are now being identified, the "Interfax" reports.

Currently, the participants of the special operation continue screening the locality and block possible escape routes of suspected militants, said the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov, the RIA "Novosti" reports.
