Moscow Court recognizes film "Innocence of Muslims" as extremist

The Tver Court of Moscow recognized the anti-Islamic film "Innocence of Muslims" as extremist and forbade its demonstration in the territory of the Russian Federation.

Let us remind you that on October 1, the Tver Court held court hearings on the claim of the General Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation to recognize film "Innocence of Muslims" as extremist. The trailer for the film, which was shot in the USA and which presented the Prophet Muhammad in a bad light, appeared on the "YouTube" in early September and caused protest actions in several Muslim countries.

The court session recognized the claim of the Moscow Prosecutor's Office as legitimate and justified, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

The evidence of extremism in the film was confirmed by the conclusion of the experts from the Russian Institute of Cultural Studies and the testimonies of witnesses at the trial, the same experts, who examined the film.

The "Caucasian Knot" reported that on September 25 and 26, providers, operating in Chechnya, blocked the access to the "YouTube" because of anti-Islamic film at the request of the Republic's Prosecutor's Office. On September 27, the Lenin District Court in Grozny pronounced the determination to prevent its dissemination. According to human rights defenders, the operation of the entire video hosting "YouTube" should not be stopped because of the ban on the demonstration of the film "Innocence of Muslims".
