Georgian CEC announces complete restoration of its website
Today, the official website of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Georgia resumed its work after the DDOS-attack. This was reported by the press service of the Central Election Commission.
Let us remind you that at night of October 1-2, the website underwent a massive DDOS-attack. The website published in real time the information on the results of the parliamentary elections; however, the access to the website was deteriorated because of its overload.
The website resumed its operation at 11:00 a.m. Moscow time. First of all, specialists of the IT department provided users' access to the information on the results of the vote counting. At 02:00 p.m. Moscow time, all the website's features worked correctly.
The CEC declined to comment on from where the attack on the website was made from abroad or from computers within Georgia. At present, according to a staff member of the CEC, they are working on defining the IP-addresses, from which the attack on the server was made.
According to the press service of the CEC, all information is restored, since there a backup version of the website.
