CEC of Georgia reported the "Georgian Dream's" pressure on the district electoral committees

Ekaterina Azarashvili, Press-speaker of Central Election Committee of Georgia, made a statement about pressure from supporters of "Bidzina Ivanishvili - Georgian Dream" electoral bloc on members of the district electoral committees for the purpose of getting the desired results of voting. Bidzina Ivanishvili, in his turn, called for his supporters to stop holding actions of protest.

Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" reported that parliamentary election was held in Georgia on October, 1. After counting 100% of the electors' votes CEC of Georgia announced preliminary results of the parliamentary election in the country. "Bidzina Ivanishvili - Georgian Dream" electoral bloc became leader of the election campaign.

The "Georgian Dream" coalition consists of: the "Georgian Dream - Democratic Georgia (leader Bidzina Ivanishvili), the Republican party (leader David Usupashvili), the Conservative party (leader Zviad Dzidziguri), the party "Our Georgia - Free Democrats" (leader Irakli Alasania), "Industry will Save Georgia" (leader Georgy Topadze) and "National Forum" party (leader Kakha Shartava).

In a number of electoral districts where according to preliminary data, "United National Movement" became winner supporters of the "Georgian Dream" are bringing pressure on the district electoral committees for the purpose of getting the desired results, Press-speaker of Central Election Committee of Georgia Ekaterina Azarashvili declared today.

In particular, according to her, pressure is being brought on the following electoral committees: Tetritskaro, Bolnisi, Marneuli, Akhaltsikhe, Khashauri, Adigeni, Gardabani and Lahodekhi where the results of voting are disputed.

"We call for everyone to abstain from protest actions and not to bring pressure on representatives of district electoral committees. Give us an opportunity to sum up the results of voting", Azarashvili said.

It should be reminded that on October, 3, several hundred supporters of the "Georgian Dream" stormed the building of Terjol district electoral committee. A session of Signak district electoral committee passed off in the face of a protest action.

Leader of the "Georgian Dream" Bidzina Ivanishvili called for his supporters to abstain from holding actions of protest. "I ask you to stop all kinds of protest actions. We are already not in opposition, we are a real power. Power transfer technically takes time", Ivanishvili said.

According to the latest data of CEC of Georgia, "Bidzina Ivanishvili - Georgian Dream" is in the lead of the election polling 54,89 per cent votes. The second place is taken by "United National Movement" with 40,39 per cent votes. "Georgy Targamadze - Christian-democratic movement" electoral bloc polled 2,04 per cent votes, the Labour party polled 1,24 per cent. The rest parties failed to get even one per cent of the electors' votes.
