In Tbilisi, refugees capture two houses

On October 3, in Tbilisi, refugees seized two apartment buildings, demanding to return them to their former place of residence.

On October 3, the internally displaced persons (IDPs) seized a dormitory building in Baku Street. 28 families took part in the seizure. In general, they are refugees from Abkhazia. According to the participants of the protest action, during 20 years already, they have been waiting for promises, announced by the government.

"A representative of the Ministry for Refugees and Accommodation came to us. He said nothing: whether we should stay or whether we should go away. I believe they have not decided what to do," the "Georgia Online" quotes a refugee Mziya Mchvenava as saying.

In the morning of the same day, the refugees broke into the house No. 7 in Tashkent Lane. 26 refugee families were evicted from that house about a year ago. The participants of the protest action of October 3 claimed that the house belonged to them and that no one had the right to evict them from there. Georgy Zhgenti, a representative of the Ministry for Refugees from Occupied Territories, arrived to the place. He promised the refugees that he would do anything to satisfy their demands, the "news.ge" reports.
