Nalchik commemorates victims of October 13, 2005

Representatives of public organizations, law enforcement officers, students, residents of Kabardino-Balkaria took part in the today's rally to pay tribute to the memory of the persons, killed in the attack on Nalchik. This was reported by the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

The rally was held on the day of the 7th anniversary of the militants' attack on Nalchik in Militia Park near the monument to law enforcement officers, killed in the line of duty.

"The tragic events of 2005 are not yet over. We keep losing our colleagues. To take care about their families is our duty. We cannot forget them," said Major General Sergey Vasiliev, Russian Minister of Internal Affairs in the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR).

Khizir Misirov, a representative of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kabardino-Balkaria, made a dua (a memorial prayer). Valentin Bobylev, Archpriest of Orthodox churches of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, also prayed for the deceased persons.

In their speeches, Sufadin Shebzukhov, the leader of the public organization "Peace to Your Home", Musa Akhmatov, a representative of the public organization "Alan", Islam Vindizhev, a student of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University (KBSU) and other persons called for agreement and peace and spoke of the need to educate young people in a spirit of tolerance.
