Railwaymen go on preventive strike in Georgia
In the event if the administration of Limited Liability Company (LLC) "Georgian Railway" fails to fulfil the demands to raise wages of workers, the today's warning strike could be repeated. This was declared by the organizers of the protest action.
The workers of the LLC "Georgian Railway" announced a warning strike, demanding to raise wages and improve working conditions.
Today, starting from 11:00 a.m., the train traffic in the territory of Georgia was suspended. So, in Tbilisi, freight trains stopped moving, and in the city of Samtredia, the strike also involved passenger trains, the "Georgia Online" reports.
The protest action lasted only two hours. However, if in the nearest future the administration fails to take steps to fulfil the demands, the railway workers intend to stop trains for much longer period, the "Solidarity" reports.
