Azerbaijan: all detainees after protest action of October 20 are at large

Today, in Azerbaijan, the term of administrative arrest of four opposition activists, who were detained in connection with the protest action, held on October 20 in the centre of Baku, where they demanded the dissolution of the Parliament expired.

Thus, all 13 participants of the protest action, sentenced to administrative arrests for not obeying the police for periods of 7-10 days, were released. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by representatives of the Civil Movement for Democracy "Public Chamber".

In total, more than 110 persons were detained. Of these, 13 persons were arrested, including 4 persons, arrested for 10 days, 1 for 9 days, 3 for 8 days, and 5 for 7 days. Other detainees were sentenced to other forms of penalties for administrative responsibility fines and warnings.

Appeals were filed on all cases against the arrested activists. However, they were considered only on October 29, when 9 arrested activists were already released and the 4 other activists had to serve only one day to be released.
