In Baku, 12 protesters brought to administrative responsibility

As reported by the Civil Movement for Democracy "Public Chamber" (CMDPC), 12 participants of the action against amendments to the legislation aimed to toughen penalties for unauthorized demonstrations that took place in Baku were brought to administrative responsibility.

Five activists of the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan (PFPA) Tazakhan Miralyamli, Renad Najafov, Sagif Gurbanly, Mamed Ibragim and Takhir Mirzali were fined by 20-25 manats (about 24-30 US dollars) on non-obedience to the police, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told at the CMDPC.

Two other members of the PPFA Vyusal Bairamov and Rufat Aliev, and five activists of the "Musavat" Party Mustafa Gadjibeili, Kheirulla Balakhanly, Elchin Abdullaev, Faraim Abbasov and Ali Gasanov were released after a warning awarded to them at the Yasamal District Police.

Besides, ten of the detainees were taken away to a remote distance from the venue of the action, where they were released.

Members of the CMDPC condemned the Azerbaijani authorities for stopping the action and considered it as "another fact of gross violation of the freedom of assembly in the country."
