Bashkortostan: case on fight with natives of Caucasus brought to court

The Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Bashkortostan brought to court the criminal case on the riots in the Zatonsky Market in Ufa, which involved natives of Northern Caucasus and Central Asia.

In May 2011, at the market in Ufa, a domestic conflict occurred between natives of Caucasus and Central Asia. Five persons were injured.

After conducted investigation, Ruslan Zubairov, Deputy Republic's Prosecutor, approved the indictment against seven Ufa residents, natives of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Ingushetia, and Chechnya.

According to investigators, in last May, in the territory of the Limited Liability (LLC) Trade House "Zatonsky", the defendants provoked the conflict and entered a mass fight with sellers of the market. In the course of the fight, they used baseball bats and cut fixture bars as weapons and shot from traumatic weapons, and they inflicted bodily harm of varying severity to 11 victims.

The defendants did not admit their guilt in the crimes. This was reported by the website of the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Bashkortostan. The criminal case was brought to the Lenin District court of Ufa for consideration on the merits, the "TemaUfa" reports.
