Rostov holds picket-exhibition "20 Years without USSR" dedicated to October Revolution

Today, the Rostov Branch of the patriotic movement "Suts Vremeni" (Essence of Time) held a picket-photo exhibition, dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the October Revolution. The activists of the movement gathered photos that demonstrated ruined plants, factories, and farms.

"The pictures of our exhibition show how our civilization was destroyed in 21 years, since the USSR collapsed. They depict the degradation of young people and the whole culture in our country, the suffering of representatives of the nations, with whom we used to be friends, the begging of our elderly men and women, and how our children can without obstacles buy alcoholic beverages and can watch half-naked women from TV screens and billboards," Elena Loboda, an activist the patriotic movement "Suts Vremeni", commented on several photos. According to her, in Russia and in the CIS countries, activists of the patriotic movement managed to collect about 40,000 pictures.

"The most striking pictures are presented here. All photos were taken in last August, when the anniversary year of the collapse of the Soviet Union came. The main purpose of the today's picket is to inform people about the fact that the Soviet Union was a powerful country. We want to show and tell people what we achieved in 21 years," the activist of the patriotic movement said.

According to Elena Loboda, a lot of young people were interested in the picket-photo exhibition. "Young people come up and ask us questions. Representatives of the older generation leave their wishes and gratitude," Elena Loboda has added.

Valentina, a Rostov resident, believes that such actions do not contribute to anything. "Well, they showed pictures, and what then? Even TV Channels show what is happening in our country and to our country, and nothing has changed," Valentina has stated.

Pensioner Natalia also believes that such action will not contribute to anything; however, she expresses her gratitude to the organizers for such action.

"I am pleased to know that there are people, who want to change something. In our country, everything that could be destroyed was destroyed. And there is no faith that the today's Russia will be able to resist the pressure of the collapse, like the USSR once did not resist. However, I cannot say that we live worse that the civilized world, by which I mean European countries," the woman said.
