Decision to extradite Musaev to Azerbaijan challenged at Russia's SC

Dmitry Sukhomlinov, the advocate of the Azerbaijani citizen Ibragim Musaev, has lodged a complaint to the Russia's Supreme Court (SC) about the decision on the General Prosecutor's Office (GPO) of Russia to extradite his client.

Today, the extradition decision in relation to Ibragim Musaev, an employee of the Ministry of National Security (MNS) of the Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic (NAR), was announced at the Yaroslavl Regional Court. The Court thus upheld the decision of the Russian GPO to extradite Musaev to Azerbaijan.

In his exclusive interview to the "Caucasian Knot" Ibragim Musaev said that he feared for his safety at homeland. He asserted that the authorities of the NAR are engaged in supplying arms and food to Kurdish terrorists in Turkey. He also said that had been ordered to kill the wife of Turadj Zeynalov, who had been arrested on suspicion of spying for Iran and died at the MNS of the NAR.

The court ruling on Musaev's extradition shall enter into force upon announcement, the lawyer Dmitry Sukhomlinov told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. "In principle, the convoy of the country that insists on extradition can take him right now," he said.

However, according to his story, Ibragim Musaev was not present at the session; and the lawyer knew nothing about his whereabouts.
