Seven mothers of many children go on endless hunger strike in the office of Governor of the Volgograd Region
On September 6, seven mothers from large families from the Volgograd Region went on a hunger strike demanding to solve their social problems. The action takes place in the reception room of the regional Governor Sergey Bozhenov, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.
"Governor Bozhenov wouldn't meet us. If he doesn't come down to us, we'll stay here until the end. We are optimistic; we know that our children are behind us. Only parents can protect their children. We were pushed into the corner; by and large, we are all homeless here, because we have no housing," Elena Samoshina, of the hunger-strikers told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
"If the Governor can't solve our problems, then let him voluntarily resign," the protesters demand.
So far, they have not detailed their problems.
No comments of the regional administration in the context of the hunger strike are available.
