In Dagestan, some Sabnava villagers receive compensations for flood damage; however, not all are satisfied
23 residents of the Dagestani village of Sabnava, who claimed that they could not receive compensation for their properties damaged by flooding, have reported receiving the allocated funds. Some residents are dissatisfied with the volume of compensations; however, the leaders of the village consider the claims groundless.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in July, residents of the village of Sabnava of the Derbent District complained about the fact that they could not get compensation for their properties affected by the flooding in October 2012, since persons who drew up the lists of victims made mistakes in the names of recipients.
Yet in late July, the mistakes were corrected, and compensations reached their intended recipients. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by villager Faramaz Mirzoev, who together with other villagers faced the problem when trying to get the money owed to them.
Meanwhile, Faramaz Mirzoev is dissatisfied with the amount of compensation. "I have got 50,000 roubles that is, 10,000 roubles per one family member. I believe the amount is too little. This money is not enough to restore my house and property," Faramaz Mirzoev says.
