Woman from Makhachkala complains about illegal detention of her husband
A resident of Makhachkala Arslan Durushev was detained today and taken to some unknown location, said his wife Fatima Kazieva. According to her story, power agents had planted an explosive device on him.
She told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that the men who took away her husband told her that he would be taken to the Lenin ROVD (District Interior Division) of Makhachkala.
However, when Arslan Durushev's relatives immediately after detention came to the above ROVD, the on duty officers told them that Arslan Durushev had not been brought there.
The woman explained that her husband Arslan Durushev, born in 1981, is committed to Salafism; however, he had no problems with law enforcement bodies and "he had never been convicted or taken to the police."
In the last two or three days, power agents, mainly those sent from other regions, have really screened the houses in Makhachkala, where Salafis live, one of the parishioners of the mosque in Kotrov Street, which is considered to be a "Salafi" one, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
"I think this has to do with the elections in Dagestan to be held on September 8. All the detainees are told that they are figurants in the allegedly earlier opened cases on their aiding the militants," said the source, who preferred to remain anonymous.
