Prosecution presents proofs on the last episode of attack on Nalchik
Today, the prosecution has spoken in debates at the Supreme Court of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR) in the case of the attack on Nalchik and presented evidence on the episode with the attack on the DPS (road and post service) "Khasanya". This is the last episode of the criminal case; then, the defence will be given the floor to announce its position.
At today's session, the state prosecution announced the testimony of the defendant Rasul Khulamkhanov, stating that in the morning on October 13, 2005, he came to namaz to the local mosque, where he met his fellow villagers Zubeir Sozaev, Azamat Akhkubekov, Rustam Mammev, Valery Etezov, Zeitun Sultanov and others.
The prosecution believes that from there the villagers went out to the forest near Khasanya. Taking up their arms, they split into two groups; and the first group, comprising Sultanov, Etezov, Mammev and a certain masked man, attacked the DPS post. The rest of the group refused to attack the post and went home.
Giving his evidence in the courtroom, Rasul Khulamkhanov said that Rasul Nogerov and Rasul Kudaev were not among the attackers. According to his story, a certain operative agent had demanded from him to slander Nogerov and Kudaev.
In its turn, the prosecution said that this Khulamkhanov's evidence should be treated critically, as earlier he had confirmed that the above two took part in the attack.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the debate in the case on the attack on Nalchik began on August 19. At the court sessions on September 2, 3 and 5, the prosecution came to the conclusion that the guilt of the defendants was proved in full.
