In Moscow, parents of large families from Volgograd hold solo pickets near administration of Russian President
Today, Elena Samoshina and Nikolai Shamaev, parents of many children from Volgograd, held solo pickets in front of the presidential administration in Moscow and met Dmitry Peskov, Press Secretary of Vladimir Putin.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 6, several parents of many children from the Volgograd Region went on hunger strike, demanding to resolve their social problems. Mothers tried to enter the government building to meet Governor Sergey Bozhenov. Nationalists and members of the "Yabloko" Party came to support them. During the protest action held in front of the building of the regional government, 10 persons were detained.
On September 6, Elena Samoshina stopped her hunger strike because of the proposal received from staff members of the reception of Vladimir Putin to come to Moscow and to state her demands at the reception of the Russian President.
"Staff members of the presidential administration organized a conversation with the Governor of the Volgograd Region. We told him about the problem of large families in the Volgograd Region. We have been told that a commission will be established to address our problems and that it will be led by Olga Golodets. We have been promised that they will help to resolve the problem of Elena Samoshina, who is to leave the house till September 10. I, as a father of a disabled child, have also been promised help in resolving the problem of housing," Nikolai Shamaev has said.
