Trial on lawsuit filed by HRC "Memorial" to cancel demand for registration as foreign agent postponed again
The Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial" has filed a lawsuit challenging the demand of the Moscow Prosecutor's Office to get registered as a foreign agent. Being earlier scheduled for September 13, the court hearing has been postponed.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on March 26, the Moscow Prosecutor's Office started an unscheduled inspection of the HRC "Memorial" with the assistance of experts from the Ministry of Justice and the Tax Inspectorate. Following the inspection results, the Prosecutor's Office demanded that the HRC should register as a foreign agent. The HRC "Memorial" considers the conclusions made by the Prosecutor's Office as incorrect and filed a complaint to the Zamoskvorechye Court of Moscow.
According to the information of the "Caucasian Knot", the court session has been postponed because of the judge's illness, and the date of the next court session has not been scheduled yet.
According to the court secretariat's information, the date of the next court session is likely to be reported in the morning of September 13. This was announced by the statement of the HRC "Memorial".
