Cherkessk residents file complaint to Prosecutor's Office against significant increase of utility rates
A group of 18 residents of Cherkessk filed a complaint to the City Prosecutor's Office about the significant increase in utility rates in July 2013.
"Despite the statement by the republic's leaders that the increase in utility rates should not exceed 6%, in the Karachay-Cherkessian Republic (KChR), the utility rates were increased by 10-35%," notes the complaint that was handed in at the meeting with Vadim Stashevsky, City Prosecutor, held on September 4. Residents of Cherkessk asked the City Prosecutor to check the legitimacy of increase of tariffs for housing and utility services.
"We are pensioners, and we are short of money to pay such amounts. The cost of service for removal and disposal of garbage was increased by more than 35%, for gas supply by 15%, water supply by 12%," the "Caucasian Knot" was told by one of the persons who signed the complaint.
At present, the "Caucasian Knot" has no comments of staff members of the department on tariffs and rates of the KChR on the complaint filed by the residents of Cherkessk about the significant increase of the rates for utility services.
