Shamkhal resident detained in Dagestan suspected of illegal weapon possession

Akbar Murtazaliev, a resident of the village of Shamkhal, who was detained on September 9, is kept in the Kirov ROVD (District Interior Division) of Makhachkala. This was reported by the Dagestani Regional Public Organization (DRPO) "Pravozaschita" (Advocacy). He is charged of illegal possession of weapons. This was stated by a staff member of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) for Dagestan.

Earlier, representatives of the DRPO "Pravozaschita" reported that in the village of Shamkhal, Akbar Murtazaliev, a local resident, born in 1992, was detained. The human rights defenders learned from his relatives that his house was searched. During the search, nothing illegal was found; however, he was detained.

The "Caucasian Knot" was told by a representative of the DRPO "Pravozaschita", the whereabouts of Akbar Murtazaliev was revealed only on September 10. According to the available information, Akbar Murtazaliev is a student of a Chelyabinsk institution of higher education, and he came for several days to visit his relatives.

The relatives of Akbar Murtazaliev and Israfil Gadadov, an advocate of the Bar Association "Kavkaz", who represented the interests of the detainee, were unavailable for comments.
