At least 76 persons suffered from the armed conflict in Northern Caucasus in August 2013; of them, 42 persons were lost and 34 more were wounded. These are the results of the calculations made by the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from other open sources.

Most victims were registered in Dagestan. This August, 61 suffered there, including 31 casualties and 30 wounded persons. Among them, as a result of attacks and bomb blasts six civilians were killed and 20 civilians were wounded.

In August, seven people were lost in Kabardino-Balkaria – there is no information about civilian victims in this republic in August.

In Chechnya, in August, six people suffered, two of them were killed and four others wounded.

In Ingushetia, two civilians fell victim to the conflict in August – a shelling opened by still unidentified persons killed the Secretary of the Security Council of Ingushetia and his driver.

In August, the Stavropol Territory, North Ossetia and Karachay-Cherkessia had no victims of the armed conflict.

The "Caucasian Knot" notes here that the above statistics cannot present with absolute precision the actual count of victims. Not all the data gets into news reports; and it is not always possible to verify the statements made by law enforcement bodies.

Let us remind you that in July at least 65 people fell victim to the armed conflict in Northern Caucasus, including 46 casualties and 19 wounded persons.
