The rally was held on the initiative of the Karachay-Cherkessian Republic's Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF).

"We cannot allow such intervention in Syria, like it took place in Afghanistan, Yugoslavia, Iraq, and Libya, where weapons of mass destruction were searched. Tomorrow, it may concern our country and each of us," said Ismel Bidjev, a deputy of the Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Sport, Youth Affairs, and Tourism of the Parliament of the Karachay-Cherkessian Republic (KChR).

Khyzyr Sanashokov, Chairman of the Union of Soviet Officers in Karachay-Cherkessia, has reminded the audience that 160,000 compatriots reside in Syria. "There, Circassians, Abazins, and representatives of our other peoples live, and they are loyal to the authorities. Therefore, the opposition forces stand against Circassians, Abazins, and other peoples," he said.
