Sochi resident claims policemen of Khosta OVD abuse power
In the Khosta District, policemen fabricated a case of administrative offence. This was reported by Olga Sofronova, a resident of Sochi.
The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Olga Sofronova that on August 30, she came to the OVD (Interior Division) to find out the fate of the complaint earlier filed by her against the actions of the investigator who was considering the case against her son. She was accompanied by Igor Kurochkin, an advocate of the Azov-Black Sea Advocates' Chamber.
However, at the police station, she was detained under the orders issued by chiefs of the OVD and placed to a detention facility for detainees.
Advocate Igor Kurochkin witnessed the detention.
"Neither I, nor Olga Sofronova committed any acts of hooliganism. And, all the more, she did not use foul language, like it was falsely stated in the later reports," Igor Kurochkin told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
The advocate believes that law-abiding persons have no chances to protect themselves from the misconduct of persons with power. "Olga Sofronova was accompanied by the advocate, and, despite everything, she was detained and sentenced. And what if she came alone to the OVD? No one knows what could happen then," Igor Kurochkin says.
